Having one app for each instant messaging service you have (aim, yahoo, msn) can become a hassle and can take up much of your ram in your phone, making it slower. Some programs out there like Fring, which is the most known for the moment can really help putting all your accounts into one program that is lightweight and easy to use. Fring does that with an easy to use user interface. It supports most of the IM clients out now like Skype, MSN Messenger, Google Talk, ICQ, SIP, Twitter, Yahoo! and AIM, it can connect also to your last.fm friends and now supports Facebook. All that in one app. Oh and it’s FREE.

I’ve been using this for months now making long distance calling with Skype and their service. All still being in touch with my friends and being able to read my GMail on the go (yeah Fring can notify you when you receive new GMail).

Fring is portable and easy to use. It supports many of todays phones like Nokia s60 devices, IPhone, and more. Just plug your info in and they will send you the app directly to your phone or you can download it directly on your computer to transfer it over.

Download it here

Now there are many Voip services out there like Vonage, but it’s restricted to landline calling and they don’t offer a mobile version with their service. Now i’m gonna tell you how to get unlimited worldwide calling. The only thing you need is a Skype account (skype), a smartphone and an unlimited internet plan by your cellular provider. Here are the three diffrent plans that skype offers for the moment.

.Unlimited U.S. and Canada for $2.95/month

.Unlimited Country for $5.95/month

.Unlimited World for $12.95/month

Now having a mobile phone that can support the mobile version of skype is were this all comes handy. If you have no contract with any provider, you can either go with at&t with their unlimited data plan ($35 unlimited internet for your smartphone), or t-mobile for $40. Now werever you are in the U.S. you will have internet access with your phone threw edge or 3G. You should make sure your phone is compatible with Skype mobile first (check here).

Now that you have your plan with Skype and unlimited internet on your phone you can call unlimited for less then $45 bucks a month. Even that you can connect your laptop to your cell phone and get internet threw that. You might need a program like Joiku to make your phone a wifi spot. ( i’m sure there are free ones out there)

Now you can surf the web unlimited on your phone and make unlimited calls to mobile and landline. And even get your laptop online by connecting to your smartphone.
