What to expect for Killzone 2’s future
Killzone 2 was Sonys pride of joy when it was announced at E3 a couple years back. Showing the public a video trailer of what Guerilla and Sony had in mind for the final release. The trailer was not rendered on the PS3 so some people were disapointed to see that it was just a concept and not the real thing.
But now, after years of waiting, it’s finally here. Making itself on top of other Ps3 games, Killzone 2 was somewhat a great success. With it’s innovative non stop multiplayer, it made people stay in the game longer and now with the arrival of the two new map pack and the new update that just came out. Guerilla is surely making this an important title for the PS3.
So that’s that, and now you must wondering whats next. Well the first thing i want to talk about is the implementation of Co-op in the game. Guerilla will probably introduce a online co-op option for singleplayer during the E3 press conference. I don’t know if this is true but surely they must at one point in the future. Now for having 2 player at home playing the game together is much harder to accomplish because of the rendering of the game. You basicly need to put two ps3s into one to make it possible. The ps3 just can’t render that many polygones for two players at once. Imagine all those polygons that need to be present on the screen
. So online Co-op is a must to keep the killzone 2 fans happy (including me).
Now we are already informed that the new maps, Wasteland Bullet and Vekta Cruiser are coming out today (april 30th). We can surely see some more down the road. Why not a level like the one were we first saw the snipers in the single player campaign. But let’s hope that the price for the maps come down a little because $5.99 for two maps is quite expensive. This is the map i was talking about.
I think that killzone 2 has come a long way and has reached my expectations since i saw the first trailer at E3. They just need to continue updating the game. Why not have monthly episodes of the game were each month you can buy a new episode of the game. Starting from chapter 1 you continue your journey through the story by buying episodes. Now maybe that’s what smaller game companies might do. But this can eliminate the use of disks and dvd. Making everything downloadable from the internet. I don’t know, maybe thats our future, maybe OnLive will show what Sony and Microsoft have been missing all this time. Maybe there wont be a next big ps3 or xbox console but just a box like OnLive and just the game console will be stored on Microsoft’s or Sony’s servers. I believe that’s were we are heading in the next few years anyway.
How to you want our next consoles to be? portable were you can take it everywere you go and be always conected? check this out

I hope so.
I hate the OnLive concept. If I’m paying for something I want to see it and be able to hold it and show it to my friends in my living room. This includes games and all that. You can’t resell old games if they’re all stuck on some server 9000 miles away. And if the servers go down, your f’d, and in my experience, at some point in time, the servers will go down.
i think since theve got the engine and most of the time consuming stuff done, they should release KZ3.
a prequal of the storie line i alot of detail of the storyline ive read off the net how the higs lived on earth than moved to vetka before the ISA tried to take it over.
so the isa are acshaly the bad guys not the higs.
i want to see the origin of the higs how they came to be how they adapted to that planet and go from one planet to another so you can have alot of varied enviroments.
but i want it to be verry deep story driven like MGS4 minus the 1hr videos.
focous on the SP than mayb later release the MP have it completly seperate KZ2 was supose to be the bringing of FPS it wasent so i want KZ3 to step upto the bar.
“Starting from chapter 1 you continue your journey through the story by buying episodes.”
That on KZ scale won’t ever happen, unless you create the first episode a year before it releases or have a game that randomly creates level around certain key objectives determined in the download.
In the future I think a lot more downloadable content, would prolong the life of killzone 2. Somethings that would be nice to see would be; a campaign co-op mode similar to the first resistance, a map pack of the original killzone maps updated(this would be awesome, very nostalgic. they need to put some sort of player limit on the maps, as they are much smaller), introduction of such options for multiplayer like one hit kills and harcore mode, and finally the addition of some weapons online.
If all this came true, I suspect I will be playing Killzone 2 for a very long time. For right now I see no FPS in the future that has caught my eye, quite the way Killzone has.
